There are few modern miracles more reliable than a pub quiz.

For a couple of hours, your phone stays in your pocket and your mates become (very loud) geniuses and absolute nonsense becomes deeply important.

 

You remember the name of a river you’ve never seen, argue about ancient pop lyrics like it’s twelve angry men, and discover (once again) that someone in your group knows far too much about flags.

​

It’s a small, weekly ritual: pints, pens, hating the team next to you, the sweet sting of being wrong in public, and the shared glory of getting that one obscure question right (the answer is nepal).

Wednesdays — 7.30pm
General knowledge, good banter, occasional heartbreak, occasional headache, and making forever enemies in a different pub.

 

Two pubs, one quiz. The winner at New Amsterdam and the winner at The Next of Kin win the respective pots, and there's a special prize for the whole pub that wins!
